Hello ,

Just wanted to add Will’s ( age 14 ) entry which is the little mice sun bathing. He used water-color pencils and a aqua painter to color his image which is stamped on water-color paper with versa fine black ink.   The other two are what I made with scraps and previously stamped images  from my piles of bits and pieces which I took on our weekend trip. While the kids swam I set to crafting on one of the beds and the night stand near by.  Many passers-by our open patio door probably thought What is she doing in there as I had stuff all over the bed ,scissors, paper trimmer , ink stamps adhesive and loads of paper pieces. Brian says I could do a whole workshop for the hotel out of my scraps  🙂  The little bird and butterfly are on dimensional tape. They are from my business cards when I was a demonstrator which I lovingly stamped and colored loads of. I didn’t get into the usage of scraps as I had vowed for my new years resolution so thought I’d better get busy. The little bird on the flower-pot was a piece colored a few years back also.

Please keep Brian in your thoughts he had a tooth pulled today and is still having a fair bit of bleeding after about 6 hours. He has even conceded to taking the pain meds the Dr. ordered so I know he isn’t feeling well. ( he usually won’t take more than a small dose of ibuprofen )

He has two more that need to be removed after many years of fillings and trips to the dentist they can’t be saved anymore.

Jordan is excited about his new job. He will be escorting the large windmill blades and occasionally large Caterpillar machinery. As he excitedly told me about what he was going to be doing I thought of your posts this past summer  Leslie  of the wind turbine and large machine you posted. He will be  around highway 80 Illinois and Iowa Who knows maybe you will cross paths as you travel when you get back out driving again.     Lynn I hope you are still on the mend and feeling better and getting to craft or garden. It is getting that time of year again isnt it? We had temps in the mid 50’s today I hope it stays that way  🙂  Have a safe Trip Leslie and enjoy your time with Joe I’m sure you miss him bunches  while he’s away.

I’m off to tend to my honey .

Love and hugs,

Shelly

Hellooooo…….out there in bloglanddddd……

Hi there  🙂

Sorry for the long pause in blogging the house has been busy , you know just the every day happenings with a family.  We are all on the mend from bronchitis and the creeping crud we had. We had a nice weekend trip and the kids swam til they were waterlogged and wrinkled like raisins. Jordan took a test to start a new job as a special load support driver and got all his things in order for that and has work waiting on him to get his insurance satarted today. very exciting things. Heather and her boyfriend rented a house and are getting moved in this week. I am happy for her to be in a safer environment but am worried about the expense involved with a house as opposed to am apartment with neither of them working many hours each week but they seem to think they can make it work so I can only wish them the best. While we were away I took the tote Leslie made full of scraps,a few stamps and the necessary tools of the paper crafter and got to put together a few cards while the kids swam . I finished my entry for Leslies coloring contest and will get it submitted this evening.  Checked out Leslies web site and Wow I am impressed and Love the photo of Joe on your under construction entries.   hope this finds you all happy and well. I am off tobed after this post ,Thanks for stoppin in to read my post  🙂   Here is the card and the coloring pages from the girls. Tweety bird is By Ariel who is 11 The princess is by Jasmine who is 10 and the Rose is my creation it is a retrired stampin up stamp called stipple rose. I had alot of fun coloring it I used stampin up markers,a white zig chalk marker.

Love to you all and big hugs too,

Shelly

Busy week

Hey everyone 🙂
I’ve had a pretty busy week with sick kiddos. Jordan Melissa and the kids all had a pretty bad case of bronchitis
so I kept tje little ones so parents could get the rest after still having to work. They are all feelling better today. Ariel had what they told me Thursday was a touch of pneumonia but we caught it early and she responded well to the antibiotics. We have plans to take our kids out to dinner tonight and then a movie since they had to share us this week. I hope you are all having a great week. I’m off to try and catch up on some neglected house work, it will still be there if I dont get it all finished 🙂
Hope to craft tomorrow 🙂
Love and hugs,

What I worked on today

HI there 🙂

I had a chance to work on a project today and can say I really had fun. I have been mulling this card around in my head for a bit now and I am very pleased that it turned out, better than I had imagined.   I am still having this stupid headache but decided to hold off on the doctor til tomorrow. I had Sierra for a bit this afternoon and she was running a fever and I didn’t want to take her out with me. She got her valentine’s day cards made up. A very productive day. Well here are the details of my card. Whisper white cardstock base. I wanted a weathered wood look so I did the direct to paper technique with Sahara sand, going gray and creamy caramel inks from  up. next I used the wood grain background stamp inked with white craft ink and white embossing powder. Now for the main image  The Zebra I stamped with black versa fine ink and used watercolor pencils and a aqua painter to color the image. I used crystal effects ( glossy accents ) for the water and put a tiny sprinkle if fine glitter to look like the shimmer you see when the sun hits the water just right. I matted the image with black, basic gray and then black again then adhered to the weather wood panel. I have several ideas in my head for the coloring challenge on Leslie’s blog.  I have to say I think the mojo is working the past few days.  hope you are all having some crafty fun too. I know the photos look the same but I was trying to get the water and the woodgrain to show up with the pictures.

Love and hugs,

Shelly

My dragonfly card inspired by Leslies recient post

Hi friends 🙂

just a quick stop by to post the dragon-fly card I made all inspired by Leslie’s card a few days past.  I had in mind to use the fairy fiber stuff from you Lynn but in my huge mess I couldn’t find it  😦  So I used some glittery glue from Stampin up. I first stamped the dragonflies onto vellum card stock in black pigment ink and covered with clear detail embossing powder heat set them then colored the back side with markers. Then I fussy cut them out with my paper snips. Once cut out I added the glitter glue. They curls a bit so next time I will leave them to dry then cut out. While they were drying I masked off some vanilla card base, and stamped the grass with several stampin up inks. I then used the other ink pads I have to go over entire masked piece to look the sky. I assembled card with atg adhesive and bits of dimensionals to pop them on card front. Have other ideas in my head but have been sidelined with a terrible headache the past few days  Yucky !!  😦  I feel a bit better today but will call physician if I don’t feel better tomorrow.    Hope this came out ok trying a different way to add my photos,

Love and hugs,

Shelly

Woo Hoo :)

HI there 🙂

I have been able to be crafty today and got several things made. First I finished my Moms Birthday card just need to get a gift card for it.

I made a valentine themed card and got 3 dominos altered. I still need practice on them but it was nice to just play around and use the things I have in my supplies. I colored one with my stazon blue and stamped a test in just black and stamped some greenery over those two, squished the stamped domino in versa mark and added utee and melted I did this 3 times. It still looked a bit plain so  I rummaged around and found a purple flower dipped it into the versa mark and added utee and melted. then adhered it with crystal effects (glossy accents ) and have left it to cool off. the second one is a small one I used the versa mark pad and utee like I did the first one only I had a shell stamp inked in copper embossing ink which I stamped onto the warm utee them let it set a bit and hit it with the heat tool to melt it all together. The final one I used tissue paper stamped on with stazon black ink then colored it with colored pencils and modge podged it onto the domino ( found a video on you tube about this technique ). the colors bled a bit but not bad for my first altered dominos. Photos to be added later I need to let them cool off.  Now Leslie about the ransom note kind of challenge that sounds like fun I have an alphabet set called  collage alphabet which has many fonts as one set. There were lots of jokes when it came out saying it would make great ransom notes.    on my way over to look at Lynn’s card better.

Have a great night.

Hugs and Love,

Shelly
