  1. “Trees”….you have more than one tree in your home for Christmas? I need some motivation to get our one up πŸ™‚

I got your Thanksgiving card. Thank you so much for the card. It is beautiful. Joe saw the return address and spazzed out about it. “Who is from Illinois? Do you know who this is?” When I saw the envelope I told him “Shelly!” The look on his face was priceless. He had no idea what I was talking about or whom I was talking about. After I showed it to him he chuckled at your note to him πŸ™‚

    Love you – Girlfriend.

    1. HI πŸ™‚ Yes I have 5 I think that I put up but I am running behind this year with all thats been going on lately. we have just one big one and I have two 4 ft. ones and then there are two for the kids that they have in each bedroom. Thay get to decorate them the way they want and have it lit. It really makes them happy. You are very welcome for the card I’m happy you liked it. πŸ™‚ Wow Brian and Joe sure get worked up over the mail don’t they lol πŸ™‚ Hope you are getting in the swing of paperwork again. lol
      Love and hugs,

      1. 5 trees!!! I have one and I have a lot of trouble getting that one up each year. Since the kids are gone I don’t have the impetus to get it up. We didn’t have one for many years after the last child left, probably about six years. I should put it up this year. Waffling between making room for it and all the cleaning that goes along with that bit and then having to take it down after the new year. Just call me a “Scrooge” I guess. Lazy is more like it πŸ˜‰

I could not believe how excited Joe got over the envelope from someone he doesn’t know coming to me. Makes me wonder if he is having thoughts of me carrying on while he is out beating the highways. As if I need more interruption, let alone someone else demanding my time!!!

Paperwork? Groan….it is coming along slowly.

Try to stay warm with the cold temperatures and the snow.
        Love you – Leslie

  2. Does everyone in America put their Christmas trees up so early? I know quite a few Brits do but they are in the minority. We don’t put our tree and decorations up until Christmas Eve although one year it did go up a little earlier as we had famly members coming to lunch.
Hope all is well with you and your family. We are all fine here but snowed in at the moment although the east side of the country has been hardest hit and we have heard that many parts of Europe have been hit hard by the cold and snow.
I am hoping to get some parcels sent out on Saturday if I can get out to the post office and one of the parcels is for you. I just hope the handmade box doesn’t get too squished in the mail πŸ™‚

    Love

    1. Hi Lynn,
I think most people here put their trees up mid to late November I know the retail stores had some up in October Crazy to me. I just always do it Thanksgiving night since that’s the way my Mom did it πŸ™‚ Brian likes the trees and decorations for a short time and would be so glad to just do it Christmas eve. πŸ™‚ We are all doing better with the sniffles but thats much better than the flu. We have had a dusting of snow and have 1-3 inches in the forcast for tomorrow night but that is nothing compared to yours. The cold air has set in with lows in the teens but still not what you are experiencing I’m sure. I have a couple things in the works too but need to get my rear moving if I’m gonna get them done. I will try to get some photos of the trees when we get them put up. Hopefully this weekend. I need to work while little Boys (Levi) who are starting to walk alot more arent here helping me so much πŸ™‚

Hope you are all doing well and thaw out soon.
Were you able to get the firewood you needed before the weather hit?

      Much Love sent your way,
      Shelly

      1. I shall be very glad to see our bit of snow gone but the poor people on the east side of the country will be eve more so. There has been record breaking low temperatures in parts of the UK, down to minus 21C. It has been biterly cold here too, I think I am getting too old for this type of weather πŸ™‚
The wind has swung into the south west and the temperatures are supposed to be slowly rising, it has just started to rain here now which is going to be fun as it is falling onto frozen ground. Skaters paradise I think!

Yes we managed to get a goodly load of firewood in before the weather turned but we shall need to get more soon.
Our youngest grandson is now walking and as he is so tall for his age we have to keep moving things out of his reach πŸ™‚

        Keep warm
        Love and hugs
        Lynn xx
